- Indispensable in the garden - this 2-in-1 soil tester is an indispensable instrument in cultivation of vegetables, fruits, flowers, and lawns.
- 2-in-1 - by choosing our device you can check both the pH value and the fertility of soil in an allotment garden, backyard garden, greenhouse and balcony pots!
- Simple to use - it is enough to prepare a small portion of soil to be tested, stick the device in, wait for 5 seconds (when testing fertility) or 60 seconds (when measuring the pH value) and... it is done – you can read the value!
- Also suitable for pot plants - this device will be excellent also for caring for pot plants at home. Caution! This device should not be put into water or chemical solutions directly!
- No batteries required! - this 2-in-1 soil tester does not require batteries and the reading is taken directly from the scale fitted on the device!
The soil tester is a device for simultaneous measurement of soil pH level and fertility - very useful when cultivating multiple varieties of plants and vegetables. This device will work excellently in allotment lots, gardens, greenhouses and balconies, but also indoors - when caring for pot plants. The tester is very easy to use. The probe intended for fertility measurement measures the content of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium (NPK) in soil, depending on the share of individual elements. This analogue 2-in-1 soil tester does not require batteries, thanks to which you can have it ready at all times!
PH LEVEL MEASUREMENT
- Prepare a single soil sample, best if collected at multiple spots (300 – 400 g), and remove stones, grass blades, roots, leaves, etc. from it.
- Pour the soil into a 0.5 L jar and add some water to it so that the soil is moist.
- Set the slider to pH level measurement. Wipe the meter end carefully with rough paper or a brush and slide the probe into the soil sample prepared.
- Take the reading on the device scale after 60 seconds (from pH of 3.5 - acidic soil to pH of 8 – alkaline soil), where pH of 7 (neutral) is the starting point of the indicator.
SOIL FERTILITY MEASUREMENT
- Prepare a single soil sample, best if collected at multiple spots (300 – 400 g), and remove stones, grass blades, roots, leaves, etc. from it.
- Pour the soil into a 0.5 L jar and add some water to it so that the soil is moist.
- Set the slider to fertility measurement. Wipe the meter end carefully with rough paper or a brush and slide the probe into the soil sample prepared.
- Take the reading on the device scale after 5 seconds.
- After finishing the reading, turn off the device by setting the slider in the starting (middle) position. The device should be stored in a dry and shaded place.
Caution! The packaging includes a detailed used manual.1. Directly after taking the measurement it is necessary wipe the tester sensor with a cloth or a paper towel.2. The tester is used solely for measuring the pH level and fertility of soil (for pot plants and garden plants).3. The device must not be put into water or any chemical solutions directly. The knowledge of the pH value of soil facilitates planning to a great extent and later it helps maintain optimal conditions for the plants cultivated. As a result, it is possible to act with more awareness and obtain a satisfying amount of crops. The knowledge of soil fertility makes it significantly easier to plan the cultivation and check whether fertilisation is necessary. Different plants require different soil. This, the soil fertilisation frequency they require differs as well.
ADJUSTMENT OF SOIL pH LEVELAdding sulphur to the soil reduces its pH, while adding lime increases it. Since the amount of these additives depends on the soil type, it is necessary to take advantage of appropriate gardening manual when choosing them. Lower doses of sulphur (lime) are used for lightweight soils that contain little humus, while the higher ones are used for fertile soils that are abundant in it. Proper pH value of soil is maintained by using appropriate fertilisers.
